How to Vote in the
November 3, 2026 Election
Connecticut voters have several ways to cast their ballot in the November 3 Election. You can vote early in person, vote by absentee ballot, or vote in person on Election Day.
Here are the important dates and information Warren voters need to make a plan to vote.
Option 1: Vote Early in Person
Connecticut offers 14 days of Early Voting, from Monday, October 19 through Sunday, November 1.
Early Voting is available every day from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., including Saturdays and Sundays.
There are extended voting hours on two days:
Tuesday, October 27: 8:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m.
Thursday, October 29: 8:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m.
All other Early Voting days are 10:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.
You do not need a reason to vote early, and you do not need to apply in advance. Simply come to Warren's Early Voting location during the Early Voting period.

Once you vote during Early Voting, you have cast your ballot for this election and cannot vote again on Election Day.
Option 2: Vote by Absentee Ballot
Beginning with the 2026 election, Connecticut allows no-excuse absentee voting. You no longer need to provide a specific reason for voting by absentee ballot. Any eligible voter may choose to vote absentee.
September 19: Online Absentee Ballot Requests Begin
Beginning Saturday, September 19, registered voters may use Connecticut's online absentee ballot portal to request an absentee ballot for the November 3 election.
October 2: Absentee Ballots Become Available
The Warren Town Clerk can begin issuing absentee ballots on Friday, October 2, 31 days before the election.
If you submit your request before October 2, your application can be processed so that your ballot is issued once absentee ballots become available.
Returning Your Absentee Ballot
Your completed absentee ballot must be received by the Warren Town Clerk no later than 8:00 p.m. on Election Day, Tuesday, November 3.
If you return your ballot by mail, allow enough time for it to arrive. A ballot that is postmarked by Election Day but arrives after the deadline cannot be counted.
Absentee ballots may also be returned using the official ballot drop box at Warren Town Hall.
Permanent Absentee Ballot Status
Connecticut also offers permanent absentee ballot status to voters who are permanently physically disabled or have a long-term illness that prevents them from appearing in person at their polling place.
To obtain permanent absentee ballot status, a voter must provide the required documentation, including certification from a primary care provider, to the Town Clerk.
Once permanent status is established, the voter automatically receives an absentee ballot for each election, primary, and referendum for which they are eligible. They do not need to submit a new absentee ballot application for each election.

Option 3: Vote on Election Day
Election Day is Tuesday, November 3, 2026.
Polls are open from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
If you are in line by 8:00 p.m., you are entitled to vote, even if you do not reach the check-in table until after 8:00.

Not Registered Yet? You Can Still Vote
Connecticut offers Same-Day Registration during the Early Voting period and on Election Day for eligible residents who are not already registered to vote.
Same-Day Registration is different from the regular voter check-in process, so allow additional time to complete your registration and cast your ballot.
If you are unsure whether you are registered, checking your registration before you plan to vote can make the process faster and easier.
