Closing Statements
Our candidates wanted to share some closing messages about what they want to bring to offices they are running for.
Greg LaCava, Candidate for First Selectman
“I have been Warren's First Selectman for four years, and I look forward to continuing the many projects underway in Warren, while continuing my efforts to work together for all Warren residents. I came from the private sector of industry where I ran a business for 30 years successfully before selling, and started to focus my time and attention to serve my community in various roles . I began by volunteering as EMS responder, firefighter and EMD for our community -- three roles that have an immediate impact on the lives of our fellow residents. There's no higher calling for me than serving my community now as your First Selectman, representing all of Warren in our Town Hall.”
Howard Pulchin, Candidate for Board of Selectmen
“In my work as a client leader and creative director, I learned something simple but powerful: the best ideas don’t happen in isolation — they happen when people listen to one another, respect different viewpoints, and build something better together.
As your Selectman, I’ll bring that same collaborative spirit to how we govern — listening with curiosity, asking thoughtful questions, and working side by side with residents to turn good ideas into lasting progress.
Warren’s strength has always come from its people — neighbors who care, who pitch in, who imagine a better way forward. Our town has enormous potential, and together, we can turn that potential into possibility — and that possibility into reality.”
Eve Schneider, Candidate for Town Treasurer
“As VP of Finance at an ad agency, I manage cash flow, oversee risk & compliance, and drive automation to improve financial visibility. As Treasurer, I will focus on investing wisely and collaborating across teams to support growth and ensure sound financial strategy.“
Robyn Kasler, Candidate for the Board of Finance
“As I am running for re-election for a seat on the Board of Finance, I am happy to have worked with fellow board members over the years developing annual budgets, helping to keep Warren’s mill rate low, and have worked on the Region 20 budget challenges.
“Having been a banker and financial director at a large company in New York, I am knowledgeable about problems and issues that may arise in our municipal financial efforts in Warren.
“Being a partner in a start-up taught me to think about new ways to solve problems, financial or otherwise. I often communicate with neighbors and friends in Warren about their concerns and try to find answers to their questions.”
Bob Gerber, Candidate for the Board of Finance
“For 15 years I was a federal judge—a Federal Bankruptcy Judge. Though I had many hundreds of consumer bankruptcies on my watch (and got to well understand middle-class people’s needs and concerns), I got to be known for my management of some of the Nation’s biggest business bankruptcies—including, among others, General Motors.
“And I employed that experience in teaching Advanced Bankruptcy at Columbia (for a dozen years, so far), passing on to upper-level law students the skills they’d need to understand cash flow, liquidity, budgeting, and other aspects of companies’ financial needs.
“If elected to Warren’s Finance Committee, I’ll offer to Town residents the same skill set I employed as a judge with a massive commercial docket, and deliver the financial expertise that Warren residents deserve.”
Richard Scaldini, Candidate for Board of Assessment Appeals
“As a member of the Board of Assessment Appeals, I will bring to bear my financial background in valuation. I also commit to know the work, to do it well, to collaborate effectively with the other board members, and to ensure an appeal process that my friends and neighbors consider fair and consistent.”
Jen Gundlach, Candidate for the Zoning Board of Appeals
“I’m a lawyer and a law professor, so I bring particular expertise in understanding the importance of due process and fairness. As a long-time advocate for people who can’t afford to pay for a lawyer and are often silenced by our legal system, I believe it is important for residents in our Town to have a chance to present their positions and feel heard.
“I also have the skill of being able to interpret and apply our zoning laws to each individual matter. I’m committed to applying the law fairly and consistently, while also being open-minded to unique circumstances. “
